To accelerate this growth, we are seeking a Senior Production Engineer to join our team. This is a remote position with a strong preference for candidates based in or near Saint Petersburg, FL and reports to our Chief Operations Officer.

JOB OBJECTIVE  
We value energy, passion, authenticity, creativity…and results! The Senior Production Engineer will take ownership of a diverse range of responsibilities and become a strategic partner to our Operations team. In this role, you will help ensure that our product is manufactured efficiently, consistently, and to specification, while driving continuous improvement across multiple facilities.

Serving as the bridge between formulation science, production execution and commercial impact, the Senior Production Engineer will play a pivotal role in scaling our technology, optimizing production performance, and advancing our mission.

Among other responsibilities, this position requires the knowledge, skills and ability to understand and execute the following:
Production Enablement
  • Lead technical engagement with international third-party production partners during all production campaigns, including extended on-site support
  • Translate company IP and product specifications into actionable operating parameters
  • Modify and optimize production processes to improve throughput, quality, and operational reliability
  • Serve as the primary technical interface between partner producer teams, internal commercial, operations, and R&D leadership
End-to-End Product Quality Ownership
  • Own product quality across all facilities ensuring physical, chemical, and functional performance meets targets
  • Develop and implement site-specific quality strategies and drive corrective actions
  • Collaborate with formulation team to align product design with manufacturing execution
Data, Analytics & Process Understanding
  • Interpret process control system data, mass balances, statistical variation, and quality metrics to diagnose and prevent issues
  • Build and maintain causal understanding between operating conditions, equipment constraints, and final product outcomes
  • Provide real-time technical troubleshooting during production runs
Customer-Facing Technical Leadership
  • Represent Phospholutions as a credible technical ambassador to producers, distributors, retailers, and strategic customers
  • Communicate production realities, constraints, and capabilities into clear narratives that build trust, confidence, and operational alignment
Project Leadership & Relationship Management
  • Lead the technical scope of production partnerships from readiness through continuous improvement cycles
  • Support CAPEX planning and process/equipment upgrade initiatives at partner sites
  • Drive cross-functional project management to ensure production timeline and specifications are met
Independent Product Stewardship
  • Operate as the execution-focused owner of product outcomes, distinct from R&D formulation authority and commercial sales objectives
  • Evaluate and challenge internal assumptions using firsthand knowledge of facility operations to guide team(s) to practical manufacturing decisions

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate core competencies in the following areas:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Process, Materials or Industrial Engineering or closely related applied science from an accredited university or college 
  • At least 8 years of technical experience in manufacturing or process-driven environments
  • Experience in fertilizer manufacturing, mineral processing, or bulk solids handling
  • Experience scaling production and manufacturing for a company
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. This company does not sponsor applicants for work visas. 
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple work locations as needed
  • Travel will be 50 to 75%
  • Background checks (criminal/education/employment/reference/credit/DMV) will be performed; results must be satisfactory to the company.
  • If hired, must adhere to all company policies and procedures and other prescribed best practices/industry standards 
 
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to lift 40 to 50 pounds as needed
  • When travelling to production/supplier facilities, employees may be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include eye, hearing and respiratory protections, protective smock, or face shield. Contact lenses may not be allowed in some area in or around confined spaces with some exposure to chemical, grease, oils, fumes, and/or other compounds. Frequent sitting, standing, moving forward/back/side-to-side, and working around production facilities; where exposure to electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, sealants, solvents, and other compounds is possible
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time

DESIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (THESE ARE A PLUS!) 
  • Master’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Process, Materials or Industrial Engineering or closely related applied science from an accredited university or college
  • Multi-facility manufacturing experience
  • Experience in phosphate fertilizer manufacturing
  • 15 years of technical experience in manufacturing or process-driven environments
