Headquartered in State College, PA, Phospholutions is growing our team to support the commercial launch of RhizoSorb® technology following multiple years of successful field trials, three decades of academic research, and backed by leading industry investors, with the newly created position – Staff Accountant.

JOB OBJECTIVE

The individual hired for this position will be responsible for analyzing, interpreting, preparing and maintaining financial statements and records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, P&L, tax liabilities and other financial activities. This position performs day-to-day general accounting and related duties and will maintain the general ledger. The Staff Account will have the ability to switch focus quickly and be able to work closely with individuals throughout the organization to ensure accurate tracking of inventory and sales. This position is responsible for completing, tracking and filing accurate tax forms with local, state, federal and international agencies.
Among other responsibilities, this position is responsible for processing and managing payroll for salaried and hourly staff members and the related tasks using ADP Workforce Now (WNF). The staff account will create invoices, set up and reconcile accounts, close the monthly books, and provide outside auditors with assistance. This role will also reconcile bank, credit card, payroll, customer and other financial accounts. The Staff Account will work closely with all departments of the company and will report to the Vice President of Finance.

- Critical thinking and problem solving and analysis skills
- Knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting, audit, and tax compliance
- Adept in fiscal management principles and processes, including resource management and needs assessment
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting from an accredited university or college
- 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting is required
- Beginner to intermediate level knowledge and experience using Sage Intacct accounting software
- “Day-1 Expert-level” proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Background checks (criminal/education/employment/reference/credit/DMV) will be performed; results must be satisfactory to the company.
- If hired, must adhere to all company policies and procedures and other prescribed best practices/industry standards
DESIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (THESE ARE A PLUS!)
- Experience with ADP WFN
- CPA or CMA preferred
- International business experience
